This years’ annual Melrose Park Community Cup Golf Day, again sponsored by Sydney apartment PAYCE was followed by a magnificent Dinner event after the days golfing activities.

PAYCE is the Sydney apartment developer and property investment company who in a progressive forward thinking effort of urban renewal developed Melrose Park from a small industrial site into a stunning residential precinct for the Sydney suburb.

PAYCE Managing Director, Brian Boyd was pleased to announce that this year’s Melrose Park Community Cup Golf Day and Dinner event raised more than $71,000 for six worthy local community groups.

Growing community support

“Over the three years that the Community Cup has been held at Ryde – Parramatta Golf Club, the event has raised in excess of $200,000, with all funds shared between the participating community organisations,” said Mr Brian Boyd.

The Melrose Park Community Cup Golf Day was supported by a number of businesses and organizations who provide golfing prizes for the event winners as well as a number of prize items for the evening auctions.

Mr Boyd said PAYCE was immensely proud to sponsor the event and congratulated the organising committee on its continuing success.

“Each year, community support for the event has grown and more importantly it has raised much-needed funds for the community groups to continue the fantastic work they carry out across their local communities.

The Melrose Park Community Cup event was organised by a community committee including representatives from all six participating local groups: West Ryde Rovers Football Club, Melrose Park Public School, St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, Riverside Community Church, Michael Hughes Foundation and Ermington United Sports and Recreation Club.

Community event exceeds expectations

PAYCE Director, Dominic Sullivan said the annual event gratifyingly saw a record number of players tee up and the biggest attendance at the fundraiser dinner in the evening.

“A total of 132 players took part in the 18-hole golfing tournament and 250 guests enjoyed a fun evening of good food and entertainment,” he said.

“The 2019 Community Cup was won by the Melrose Public School team of Daniel Latu, Justin Riley, Brett Lincoln and Brett McDonald, and we extend our most heartfelt congratulations to them.”

Special guests at the sell-out dinner included Parramatta Lord Mayor, Andrew Wilson; Parramatta Deputy Lord Mayor, Michelle Garrard: Parramatta MP, Geoff Lee; Ryde MP, Victor Dominello and Bennelong MP, John Alexander.

A fine time was had by all...

Brenden Ellam, General Manager of the Ryde-Parramatta Golf Club said the club loved to host the annual event.

“It’s our biggest event of the year and there is always such great energy and everybody has a great time”.

“We are privileged to host members of the community for this special day” said Mr Ellam.

Joe Moses, President of Ermington United said the community dinner is one of his favourite nights of the year.

“I wouldn’t miss it for anything, and I love the way we all come together regardless of how busy we are,” stated Mr Moses.

Continuing support raises a future of hope

“PAYCE looks forward to continuing its support of the Melrose Park Community Golf Day event and these great organisations well into the future,” said Mr Brian Boyd.

“Thanks to everyone who participated in another great day of golf and fundraising for six most-worthy organisations,” concluded Mr Brian Boyd.
