Drivers make a big impression on the students of Townsville.
PAYCE Drivers Make a Flying Visit to Schools - Brian Boyd
Team PAYCE drivers, Scott McLaughlin, James Moffat and David Wall made a flying visit to Townsville this week ahead of the Townsville 400 meeting in a fortnight's time to deliver some important messages to local school students.
The visit was arranged by corporate sponsors, PAYCE, Wilson Security and Wingate Properties and proved to be a big hit with the students.

PAYCE's Managing Director, Brian Boyd said the drivers were great ambassadors for motorsport and their sponsors.
"They were very pleased to give of their time to impart some very important messages to the younger generation with visits to the two local schools," offered Brian Boyd.
"Race weekends are always hectic, so they welcomed the opportunity to come to Townsville with more time on their hands to meet and chat with the students and also to promote Townsville as a beautiful tourist destination with plenty of attractions on offer for visitors," Mr. Boyd continued.

Drivers Arrive in Team Track Cars to Rousing Applause – Brian Boyd
First stop was at Thuringowa State School where the drivers were welcomed by school principal, Claudine Moncur-White, Aaron Harper, Member for Thuringowa and Cr Mark Molachino, representing Townsville City Council.
The visitors arrived in two Wilson Security Racing GRM team track cars, sporting the colours of the two Volvo S60s Supercars racing in the Townsville 400 round in July.
The Townsville round attracts massive interest across the city, so it was no surprise that many of the students were already big fans of the race and had their favourite cars and drivers.
For Scott and David it was the second visit to Thuringowa State School after a similar visit last year proved to be a huge success, but for James, as the latest recruit to the team, it was his first time and he was looking forward to the visit and picking up some new fans.
After last year's visit many of the students followed the team's performances and the team was pleased when they were invited to return to reinforce the messages they delivered last year.
Drivers Impart Important Messages to Students – Brian Boyd
The three drivers talked to the students about the importance of travelling to and from school safely each day and arriving at school on time.
Arriving at school safely and on time ensures you don't miss out on important learning activities while you are most alert was one of the key messages to the students.
The drivers also spoke about getting organised the night before and avoiding the rush in the morning when you are more likely to forget something.
Other tips included getting into a routine at home and planning for more time in the mornings by getting up a bit earlier and allowing that extra time for breakfast and to get to school.
Students won team caps and tickets for the Townsville 400 for their suggestions on tips for travelling safely and preparing for school.

Next stop was Rasmussen State School where the drivers were met by Principal, Grant Dale and Deputy Principal, Tom Franklin, as well as Townsville Council's Cr Mark Molachino.
The drivers talked to Years 7-10 students about perseverance, focus and determination and how that related to each of their own careers in motorsport.
The students were extremely interested in hearing how the three drivers had got to where they were today and the types of challenges they faced along the way.
Scott said he hoped their visit would inspire the kids to chase their dreams and see that nothing was impossible.
David said it was a great opportunity to reinforce safety road messages to the students at Thuringowa High as some would soon be getting their provisional licences to drive on public roads.
The drivers also spent time signing posters and posing with students for 'selfies' before setting off for a round of radio and television interviews, then lunch with some radio competition winners and finally wrapping up the visit by helping launch the 2016 Billy Cart Dash in aid of Variety – the Children's Charity of Queensland.
The previous afternoon had been spent filming a short clip for social media titled "The Ultimate Afternoon in the Tropics", which saw the three drivers exploring some of the local tourist attractions, including jet-skiing off The Strand, a helicopter trip over Magnetic Island and a drive up Castle Hill.
The drivers all agreed it had been a great time and were pleased to give something back to the Townsville community for making them feel so welcome.
