Property Council of Australia Awards Judge East Village Best Mixed Use Development in 2016 - Brian Boyd - PAYCE

The highly successful PAYCE East Village development at Zetland has received another impressive industry award, being judged the Best Mixed Use Development in the 2016 Property Council of Australia Awards in Sydney, NSW.

The award was announced at the Innovation and Excellence Awards night at Star City on 3rd June and attended by industry representatives from all over the country. Now in its 34th year, he national awards program celebrates the Australian property development and investment industries.

Since the formal opening in October 2014, East Village has grown to become a celebrated haven for shoppers and diners from all over Sydney. Visitation numbers to the urban marketplace now goes beyond five and a half million people each year with continued growth forecast.

PAYCE's Managing Director Brian Boyd said he was extremely proud of the project and congratulated everyone associated with the project on winning the Property Council of Australia's prestigious award in a very competitive field.

PAYCE Pleased to Share Accolade with Joint Venture Partner Mirvac– Brian Boyd

Mr Boyd said PAYCE was pleased to share the latest award with its new joint venture partner, Mirvac, who late last year signed an agreement to buy a half-stake in the retail centre and take over the management and leasing rights.

PAYCE's General Manager, Dominic Sullivan said East Village ticked all the boxes as an outstanding mixed use development, combining residential, retail and commercial in the one complex.

The project team assembled by PAYCE included leading architectural firms, Turner, Koichi Takada Architects and HASSELL, along with construction partner, Dasco Australia Pty Ltd.

The 33,000 square metre complex is anchored by a new style, full-line Coles supermarket, an Audi Australia service centre, Virgin Active Health Club, medical centre and more than 40 speciality shops, including artisan food suppliers, fresh food grocers and lifestyle retailers.

Last year, East Village also won Development of the Year in the Urban Taskforce Awards, Best Retail and Commercial Development in NSW and ACT in the Urban Development Institute of Australia Awards and best project in the Architecture-Residential-Constructed category at the Sydney Design Awards. In addition, the project has won numerous accolades for interior design and sustainability.
